Murdock Family Model Call

When moving to a new area, it can be stressful trying to market and rebuild clientele. We relocated to Kansas City in June, (Raymore) for my husbands work, I was honestly pretty heartbroken to leave my clients. You invest so much in their lives, you can't help but want to always be there. I ended up putting out a model call on Instagram and Facebook for a local family to feature. Rachel answered and truly helped me to spread my name in my new area.

Use helpful hashtags to help locate your ideal market, for instance, if you want to appeal to moms, use local hashtags like #kansascitymom, #kcmomma, etc. Instagram was honestly so confusing for me in the beginning. Am I alone? And as soon as I feel like I am getting somewhere, they change it all.

This session was a dream and just what I needed to fuel my creative soul. I helped with style suggestions and they absolutely killed it!! It's so important to help guide your clients as much as possible. You know your style and what is going to really stand out and help achieve the look you are going for.

My style is bold and warm. I love vibrance and contract to really help my subjects "pop"! I always encourage my clients to have at least one of my vibrant color choices in their lineup. Reds, oranges, and yellows really compliment my editing style.

Don't be afraid to go for it! Market in your new area and rebuild. It may happen so much faster than you think!
